The first Charter Review Committee since 1994 conducted its first meeting on November 28, 2022. The Committee is comprised of the following seven (7) members:

Ed Quinton (Chair), Michael O'Hara (Vice Chair), Francine Steelman, William Griffith, Jesse Valinsky, Judson LaCapra, and Michael Bell.

The purpose of the committee is to review and study the charter of the Village and to recommend potential amendments, if any, which the committee shall find to be in the best interest of the Village. Given the turnaround time for the committee to review and provide recommendations to the Village Council prior to the April 2023 election, the committee members established the following meeting dates: December 5, December 12, and December 19, January 5, and January 9. All meetings were held at 9900 NE 2nd Avenue.

Upon Council's final action on written recommendations, the charter review committee shall be terminated, and the terms of its members shall thereupon expire.

The Village Council met on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 to discuss the proposed Charter amendments.  During the February 7 Council Meeting, the Village Council approved a resolution as amended, calling for an election regarding the proposed Charter amendments.  Ballot language is included in such resolution.
